1. Ian Mckellen, master actor, legend, and Sesame Street enthusiast, posted a tirade on his Facebook wall yesterday. The object of his ire? The International Olympic Committee, who recently said that Russia's anti-gay laws do not violate the Olympic Charter. Well, Mckellen's having none of itm writing, "As a gay participant in the opening ceremony of the London Paralympics in 2012, I am angered by the International Olympics Committee's announcement that harsh Russian anti-gay laws do not transgress its own Sixth Fundamental Principle of Olympism that 'any form of discrimination is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic movement...openly gay visitors to Russia, including Olympians, are only welcome if they bring their closets with them."
2. CHVRCHES' Lauren Mayberry, who recently covered Whitney's "It's Not Right, But It's Okay" on the BBC Live Lounge, has told misogynists "It's not right, and it's not okay." She penned an essay in today's Guardian stating that she will not--should not--have to stand sexist and hateful comments and messages. Mayberry writes "
I asked myself: why should I cry about this? Why should I feel violated, uncomfortable and demeaned? Why should we all keep quiet?" Her editorial is in response to a post on the band's Facebook page: a screen shot of a hateful message the band received and the comments in response to it.
3. Azealia Banks has dropped a collaboration with Disclosure from her album because she clamed the duo were rude. The NME reports that when asked about the track, the 212 singer replied "I did something with Disclosure but they were really rude in an interview, so I canned it. I might leak it though, and to be honest, I've got better stuff on my record." Her upcoming LP was supposed to come out last year, but after being delayed and delayed and delayed, it's now expected out in January. We'll see if that happens.
4. NBC has canceled its upcoming Hillary Clinton miniseries. According to Deadline Hollywood, the network planned to announce that the series was a no-go later in the future, but CNN announced that they are canceling their Hillary documentary, so NBC made their annoucement sooner than they had originally planned. Hopefully we'll get to see Hillary on TV anyway; during the State of the Union address maybe?

6. Two Brazilian women were jailed for kissing durring an Evangelical event in Brazil. Pastor Marco Feliciano stopped the Glorifica Litoral in Sao Sebastiao and to have the women arrested. The New York Daily News reports that Feliciano said, "Those two girls have to leave here handcuffed," and security descended on the pair. The whole thing was captured on tape. Check it out below:
