'Show & Tell' will be the gay parent dramedy you've been waiting for

Actor, writer, producer, and overall funny man Dan Bucatinsky (an Out100 honoree along with his husband and fellow writer-producer Don Roos) will push his many talents even further with the new dramedy Show & Tell. The series, which was recently bought by ABC, is inspired by Bucatinsky's book Does This Baby Make Me Look Straight?, a personal work documenting Bucatinsky's experiences as a gay dad.

Bucatinsky is no stranger to Out. We last mentioned Bucatinsky would be joining the TLC show Who Do You Think You Are? along with his friend Lisa Kudrow. Plus, we published two excerpts from his book: "Like Father, Like Son?" and "Wake Up and Smell the Fingers." The former reads as a frank, memoir-confessional, diving into Bucatinsky's anxiety as he rasies a (most-likely) straight son. Just as intimate a read, the latter excerpt follows Bucatinsky and Roos's adoption of their daughter and sheds greater light on the adoption process for gay (and straight) couples.

Not much has been revealed about Show & Tell so far, but it has been described as a "fast-paced dramedy about the lives, loves, and scandalous secrets of a group of parents whose kids attend the same school."

Bucatinsky is writing and will executive produce with Shondaland's Rhimes and Betsy Beers. This isn't the first time the trio has worked together. Rhimes is the creator and Beers the executive producer behind Scandal, the series that earned Bucatinsky an Emmy nomination. Fingers crossed Show & Tell will be as big a hit as America's fave D.C. thriller.
