Holy cow, people! This is far greater than we expected: in a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court of the United States today decided that the Defense of Marriage Act, a 17-year-old law prohibiting the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriage, violates the U.S Constitution. "DOMA is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the equal liberty of persons that is protected by the Fifth Amendment."
