Alec Mapa's hilarious and inspiring one-man show, Baby Daddy, focuses on the harrowing process of foster adoption and his life as a new gay parent. The show was a huge success with audiences in New York or Los Angeles, now with the help of Kickstarter, Mapa hopes to share his story with a wider audience by filming Baby Daddy and making it available as a digital download.

"There's a lot of talking heads out there right now who are trying to decide whether or not gay marriage is a good idea or if kids adopted by people like us would be better off somewhere else," Mapa said of the project in his Kickstarter video. He and his filmmaker husband, Jamie Hebert, are the proud fathers of their adopted son, Zion. Their son was the influence for Baby Daddy, which is devoted to his life as father, and Hebert just finished work on "Family Restaurant," a short film in which Zion lends voice to one of the characters.

With only 19 days left in his Kickstarter campaign, Mapa still needs help to reach his goal.
