Jodie Foster's coming out/retirement speech wasn't the only surprise during last night's Golden Globes awards. While Daniel Day-Lewis won the best actor award for drama for Lincoln (expected), the film--which was written by gay writer Tony Kushner--was largely shut out of the awards, although it is seen as a favorite for Academy Awards (and is leading the pack with nominations).
Co-hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler received high marks for their gag-filled sets. After the duo donned a series of costumes as faux nominees and surprise presenter President Bill Clinton introduced Lincoln, receiving a standing ovation, Poehler gushed: "Wow, what a special guest. That was Hillary Clinton's husband."
