Baby Race 2013: Elton John and Rosie O'Donnell In the Lead
By Andrew Villagomez
The New York Post is reporting that Sir Elton John and David Furnish have welcomed their second baby via surrogate, according to an LA correspondent. The couple are said to have had their second child with the same surrogate mother who bore their first son, Zachary in 2010.
In more concrete news, Rosie O'Donnell shared a photo via Instagram of her new baby with her wife Michelle Rounds. "We [are] thrilled to announce the arrival of [our] daughter Dakota - #withloveandthanks - AMEN," she wrote. The LA Times shared that the baby was born Saturday and weighed in at five pounds, five ounces, and she is adopted.
O'Donnell and Rounds married in early June, right before Rounds underwent the first of several surgeries to remove gastrointestinal desmoid tumors, and in August, O'Donnell suffered a heart attack. It is wonderful news to hear about the new joy in the couples' lives, considering the health issues that plagued them last year. Rosie already has four kids with ex Kelli Carpenter, and this is Michelle's first baby.
Elton John's and Rosie's new babies follow the birth of Ryan Murphy's Christmas Eve born son Logan—Is there a baby race going on that the gay and lesbian power celebirties forgot to tell us about? But really, congratulations to them all!
