Gwyneth Paltrow to produce a musical based on the life and songs of The Go-Go's

She's already a movie star, singer, Emmy-winning Glee co-star, healthy chef (and Mario Batali BFF), Goop guru, and mother of Apple. Now it seems the momma who can (and will) do anything, wants to be a musical theater producer. THR reports that Paltrow is in talks to produce a musical (along with Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari) based on the life of the 1980s all-girl The Go-Go', which included Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock, and Paula Jean Brown.

Will this be a Mamma Mia/Jersey Boys jukebox fix? Since the L.A.-based band--which has been touring all summer, by the way--had hits "Vacation," "We Got the Beat," and "Our Lips Are Sealed," we certainly hope so. As THR reports, "They were the first all-female band that played their own instruments to top the Billboard charts." And many will remember them from constant rotation on VH1.

We're more surprised by the news that Carlisle and bandmates may be involved. I mean, don't they know Jane Wiedlin is a total wild card and may just want to eff up the entire gig?

Seems Paltrow's involvement with Glee has given her an entirely new career path. She's also supposedly thinking of producing a movie musical as well, titled One Hit Wonders, with Glee producer Ryan Murphy.

Oh and don't forget that Carlisle's gay son, James Duke Mason, is gay and trying to finance and produce his own film. Maybe mom's new pal can help out?
