Although we wouldn't really call it all that shocking, RadarOnline reports that Paris Hilton was recorded in the backseat of a cab during New York City Fashion Week on September 7 discussing gay guys and casual hookups via Grindr.
During the conversation, Hilton, 31 loudly proclaims, "Gay guys are the horniest people in the world...they're disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS."
After the friend describes how gay men typically use the popular social networking app to find casual sex, Hilton say, "I would be so scared if I was a gay guy...you'll, like, die of AIDS."
You can listen to the entire recording at RadarOnline, but a spokesperson for Hilton has already released a statement saying:
"Paris Hilton's comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease. The conversation became heated, after a close gayfriend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex. He also discussed a website that encourages random sex by gay men with strangers. As she was being shown the website her comments were in reference to those people promoting themselves on the site. The cab driver who recorded this, only provided a portion of the conversation. It was not her intent to make any derogatory comments about all gays. Paris Hilton is a huge supporter of the gay community and would never purposefully make any negative statements about anyone's sexual orientation."
OK, but she did say, "they're disgusting." Guess she means those crude photos posted? Not gay guys in general? And from a gal who recorded an amateur porn. Huh, who knew?
UPDATE: A source reached out to Perez Hilton to let everyone know that the entire thing was taken out of context. According to them, the cabbie "tampered with the tape, cut up conversation and only used small part of the conversation." And, since 80 % of her friends are gay, Paris thinks this whole thing is "beyond lame."
