We're all waiting with bated breath for the new season of Downton Abbey to hit PBS. And luckily, things are already leaking across the Pond.
According to The Mirror, Thomas will “endeavour to find happiness." And actor Rob James-Collier, who plays the downstairs bad guy, told the paper: “It’s a very emotional storyline and goes some way to explaining why he is how he is. Being a homosexual man in Edwardian times was against God, and you could go to prison for it. It’s a burden and the audience will hopefully empathise with him.”
But James-Collier also hints that Thomas finds "forbidden" love. Which could just be new footman Jimmy Kent, played by swoon-worthy golden boy Ed Speleers.
“Thomas takes him under his wing and looks after him. Knowing Thomas and knowing he has a preference for a certain type of person in life, I think Jimmy fits that bill perfectly.”
