This fall, major changes are in store for Anderson Cooper's talk show. The recently out news anchor's freshman season of his talk show was met with mixed reviews (he's No. 6 on Out's Power List), prompting the team to re-examine the show's formula. First up, a name change: Originally titled Anderson, the show will now be titled Anderson Live, implementing a new format that utilizes a live broadcast and studio audience, as well as a rotating group of co-hosts to join Cooper onstage.
"Being live plays to Anderson's strengths, providing immediacy and topicality, which allows us to talk about what is going on in the world," said Terence Noonan, the newly appointed executive producer of the show.
In addition to the title switch, the show will also feature a move to a new studio. Originally shot at Jazz at Lincoln Center's The Allen Room, the show will now be shot at the CBS Broadcast Center, occupying the same stage that The Nate Berkus Show once did.
Let's just hope the changes help Cooper make it past his second season, something Berkus wasn't able to do.
