Founded in January of 1982, the Gay Men's Health Crisis was the first institution to pioneer the acknowledgement of AIDS while demanding public awareness for and research of the fatal epedemic. After becoming recognized nationally for raising public consciousness over the course of three decades, the GMHC is honoring the years of unflinching and tenacious dedication to finding a cure with an anniversary gala on Wednesday, April 18 from 7 pm-10 pm at Gotham Hall. The celebration is dedicated to honoring the organization's principles of prevention, care, and advocacy services for the thousands that have been affected by HIV and AIDS. The evening will also honor three corporate and philanthropic organizations including Duane Reade, the sponsor of AIDS Walk New York; Timothy Sweeney, President and CEO of the Gill Foundation; and the Rudin Family of New York, who continue to show unwavering dedication to providing financial and humanitarian support of AIDS-related issues.

The evening will include a cocktail reception, a luxury silent auction, and an exclusive live auction. Also, guests will be treated to an elegant dinner prepared by the renowned chef of Butter and The Darby--and Food Network TV Star--Alexandra Guarnaschelli.
