Listen To a New Song From The Gossip

Psst. We want to let you in on a secret.

Word is, The Gossip has a new album coming out on May 22. That's what we heard from Pitchfork, anyway.

And the rumors appear to be true since you can already listen to the first song, "Perfect World," on Soundcloud. The forthcoming album is called A Joyful Noise and it follows up the band's 2009 album Music For Men.

As with their previous album, the trio from Searcy, Arkansas who made good seem to be reaching more toward the dance end of their punk-dance spectrum. Perhaps even more so than with Music For Men, at least if the single has anything to say about it.

Which makes sense. The album was produced by Brian Higgins, who has also worked with Pet Shop Boys and Kylie Minogue. And Beth Ditto, the group's outspoken singer and MAC Cosmetics girl, has even said she spent the whole year they were recording "listening to ABBA."

If that wouldn't make for a dance album, we don't know what could.
