It looks like Gus Van Sant hasn’t lost his eye for handsome guys. They just might not be as young as he once favored.
The director, whose work often features a bevy of budding Adonises (remember River Phoenix in My Own Private Idaho, Michael Pitt in Last Days, and John McFarland in Elephant?), has signed on to direct Promised Land, a Matt Damon and John Krasinski vehicle based on a script by Dave Eggers, according to Deadline.
Reportedly Damon was set to direct the movie—for which he and Krasinski worked on the script—but dropped out due to the scheduling conflicts that come with being a gigantic movie star.
It won’t be the first time that Damon and Van Sant have collaborated. The toothsome golden boy famously had his break-out moment in 1997’s Good Will Hunting, another Damon-penned, Van Sant-directed flick.
