Cher: Not Dead

Despite rumors to the contrary, Cher has not left the building.

The legendary star was this week a victim of one of those strange Internet death hoaxes, like Rihanna and Jeff Goldblum before her.

Thursday night, Twitter began lighting up with the trending topic “RIP Cher,” which was hashtagged on hundreds of Tweets, leading fans to hyperventilate and take to their fainting couches. After all, Cher, a prolific if sometimes hard-to-follow tweeter, had been silent for a few days.

Accoring to Gossip Cop, however, the hashtag was just a joke. The site claimed the rumor was “100% false” and that the beloved “Believe” singer is “alive and well.”
