Help fund Jessica Yatrofsky's 'A Naked Heart'

Since her book of photography, I <3 Boy, debuted in all its naked, skinny hipster glory nearly a year ago, we've known that Brooklyn artist Jessica Yatrofsky was a gal to look out for. Now, she's on our radar again with her first feature-length film, A Naked Heart, which is currently in the home stretch of a Kickstarter campaign. (You can and should donate here.)

Yatrofsky's previous work, like I <3 Boy as well as the short film Sun In My Mouth, use a languid sparseness, youth, and nakedness to lay bare her themes of sexuality and the effect art has on both the artist and viewer. In A Naked Heart, Yatrofsky takes things a step further, both in length and how deeply she gazes into those themes.

The film follows two young men on a road trip that becomes less about destination and more about the evolution of an artist-subject relationship, a dynamic Yatrofsky describes as "an environment void of the importance of sexual orientation."

This is an area Yatrofsky certainly has some personal experience with and we look forward to seeing her succeed and, of course, to seeing what is sure to be a fantastic film. Here's wishing her all the luck on her own journey.
