Channing Tatum: Costumes For 'Magic Mike' Are Pretty Much Just Thongs

Male stripper flick won't be NC-17 says star

"Hard R" is how Channing Tatum describes the rating of Magic Mike, his upcoming pseudo-autobiographical movie about male strippers, in a recent interview. We're confused--is that better than a soft R?

In the chat, Tatum--who himself spent eight months as a stripper in his late teens--says the flick "won't be anywhere near" an NC-17 rating. Nor will the Steven Soderbergh-helmed flick follow Tatum's actual experiences as a stripper because, Tatum says, "we wanted to take liberties. We wanted to make it good."

Well, that doesn't sound very intriguing.

However, what does sound make our ears perk up is the hunky cast, which includes--but is not limited to--Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, and Matthew McConaughey. The guys, says Tatum, will be seen "in thongs or whatever you want to call them and underwear.".

For those of you lamenting the mere R rating, perhaps you'll get lucky with a third G.I. Joe installment called G.I. Joe: Full Frontal. Until then, you can catch Magic Mike, which also features Olivia Munn and Cody Horn, sometime this summer.
