'Party Down' Coming to the Big Screen

And Megan Mullally is along for the ride

Bereaved fans of canceled Starz series Party Down can officially remove their mourning veils--a movie following the ragtag group of Hollywood wannabes moonlighting as cater waiters is officially in the works.

According to Deadline Hollywood, your favorite cast members--and very funny lady Megan Mullally--confirmed the news on Sunday at a Television Critics Association press event.

The film seems is in its very early stages, as Mullally said original series writer John Enbom is still writing the script. But we think it will be worth the wait since Mullally also reportedly that the entire original cast, sans the fantastic and irrepressible Jane Lynch, will be back for the big screen version.

Sad as Lynch's possible exclusion is, we still can't help but be thrilled at the prospect. In addition to Mullally, those original cast members include the to-die-for Lizzy Caplan and Adam Scott, who has since appeared in the NBC hit Parks and Recreation.

Filming will likely begin in late spring or early summer, and the movie will begin where the series, which lasted only two short seasons, left off.

Could this bode well for fans of Veronica Mars, another cut down in its prime series by Party Down creator Rob Thomas and also swirling with rumors of a film version? We sure hope so!
