First Look: Lana Del Rey's "Video Games"

Out's video producer/video editor Keren Aronoff just sent me a link to the video for Lana Del Rey's "Video Games" (below) and all I could muster after watching it was "WTF is this?" I haven't had a song give me chills like this one has in years.

There isn't a ton of info on Del Rey (born Lizzy Grant) yet, but here's what we do know: She refers to herself as the "gangster Nancy Sinatra" (which makes sense since her music is in the same kind of torchy, jazzy, '60s vein); she's been in the studio with Eg White (Adele, Duffy), Chris Braide (Cheryl Cole, Paloma Faith), Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams, Katie Melua), and Robopop (Neon Hitch, Gym Class Heroes); she cites everyone from Elvis to John Waters to Britney Spears to Antony and the Johnsons as her influences; and her debut album is due out later this year. Until then, playing "Video Games" on repeat will have to suffice. Join us, won't you?
