First Look: Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)"

It's been a little over a year since Katy Perry released "California Girls," the first smash single from her sophomore album, Teenage Dream, and for the past 12 months she's continued to rack up hit after hit (including the album's title track, "Firework," and "E.T."). Not that we're really surprised -- when we first heard the album last summer (at a beach party-themed listening event at a sound studio that had been outfitted with a real sand beach and featured Katy Perry herself holding court and introducing songs), we discovered there wasn't a disappointing track to be found on Teenage Dream.
And the hits just keep coming. Katy's fifth single (and let's pause here to note that the other four have already gone to #1) is "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" and the video captures the song's ode to partying vibe with a late '80s / early '90s-theme that features a nerdy Katy (Kathy Beth Terry) who gets a makeover with the help of the queen of Friday, Rebecca Black, and throws the rager of the year. The clip also features a slew of cameos from other stars like Darren Criss, Debbie Gibson, Corey Feldman, Hanson, Kenny G on sax, and Kevin McHale.

Even crazier than the video is the fact that there are still a ton of songs on Teenage Dream that would make killer singles. Have mercy on us, Katy! OK, OK, don't. Continue to wallop us with your uncontrollably catchy pop. We'll happily suffer.
