Starbucks Investigating Employee's Alleged Homophobic Attack

After a very public outcry surrounding an alleged "homophobic rant" from a Starbucks manager in Suffolk, NY, the coffee conglomerate stated that it is officially investigating the issue. The examination comes after a East Hampton Town woman's blog post, where she said she witnessed a Starbucks manager belittle, humiliate, and eventually fire an employee because he was gay.

Quick to clean up the issue, Starbucks stated that the employee peacefully quit on his own and was not fired. They would neither confirm nor deny the allegations on the post, but stated that they are "gay friendly" and are taking the investigation seriously.

Starbucks has good track record on LGBT employee policies, so let's cross our fingers that this is an isolated incident. Should the incident be, in fact, true (the last thing we need is another gay blogging hoax), then we sincerely hope Starbucks takes the appropriate disciplinary action.
