The Met Gala: Missed the Mark

Below, from left:
1. Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester opted for a woven Louis Vuitton number, but somehow, even though she wore slimming black, looked wide in all the wrong places.

2. Karl Lagerfeld's Tom Ford ensemble was a bit too flamboyant for our taste. We like The Kaiser when he's nice and austere and sticks to his usual uniform. And Blake Lively, in Chanel, looks like her toga is falling off.

3. Kirsten Dunst is pretty consistently on the mark, but this dress is all over the place! Sequins and patterns and exposed shoulders plust that mangled hair does not add up to elegant nonchalance.
