The Reviews Are In: Lady Gaga's Born This Way

BBC wasn't so pleased. While the international news corporation applauded the album's ability to hook itself directly into a listener's brains (wait, that's good?) they were ultimately overwhelmed by all the synthetic bells and whistles. "...Born This Way initially feels more like an assault than an event, and it could easily lose a couple of tracks," they wrote.

Finally, the A.V. Club graded Gaga's sophomore attempt with a solid "B." Lauding the album's solid hooks and hyper-electric melodies, they knew full well that no matter how intense Gaga's stadium-pop can be, she's not about to shoot herself in the foot. "Born This Way is as ostentatious, referential, and self-indulgent as Gaga herself, dancing right up to the line of self-parody, then spitting on it," reviewer Genevieve Koski wrote.

But what say you? Did Gaga's album meet expectations, or was the music as frightening as the cover? Sound off in the comments below.
