Expensive, Superfluous but Oh-So-Cool Things: George Condo and Kanye West Collaboration Scarves

How do you solve a problem like Kanye West? The answer is seemingly: You don't have to. Has he had some misguided moments? Sure. But he's consistently proven that he's dedicated -- obsessed, even -- to remaining at the intersection of music, fashion and art, no matter what naysayers may whisper behind his back (or tweet to his face, for that matter), and for that we have to give him respect. For example, Kanye doesn't just talk about how much he adores fashion -- he proves it not by sitting humbly front row at fashion shows in New York, Milan and Paris, but by doing things like, you know, rocking a Celine blouse -- originally designed for a woman -- at Coachella or working a Goyard briefcase with a crew like this. He's in deep. But he also loves art. For example, he collaborated with controversial artist George Condo on the album image for his latest venture My Dark Twisted Fantasy. The artist (who is quite a character and you can learn more about here) created various subversive childlike images for the album which have now been printed on twill de soie scarves in limited editions and are being sold at M/M Paris for a mere PS250 (or about $360). Indeed, they are exactly what we'd expect from West: fabulously over-the-top, luxurious, pricey, and much like his album title implies, dark and twisted.
