Hummer: Early Winters' "Light of Day"


The four members of Early Winters were each occupied with their own successful solo careers before they came together to create their new super band. Made up of U.K.-bred singer Carina Round, Canadian artist Justin Rutledge, L.A. producer/musician Dan Burns and Zac Rae of the band Pedestrian, Early Winters began with an informal writing session and turned into a full-on musical partnership.

Justin, Dan and Carina got together to write a track, "Turn Around," which was almost instantly placed on CBS's Ghost Whisperer. After adding in Zac to complete the quartet, Early Winters was born. It wasn't long before their songs were popping up online and added into heavy rotation on KCRW, CBC, and CJTR and now the band has released their first EP, Early Winters.

We tried to get the foursome into the Out studio when they were in town last month, but scheduling issues prevented us from hooking up with the band. Never ones to miss an opportunity to play for their fans, Early Winters pitched the idea of video-ing themselves playing a stripped down version of their song "Light of Day," and we said, "have at it!"
