Douglas Hodge Comes to Café Carlyle

Douglas Hodge is more than just a man in a dress--though appearing as one this year did earn him a Tony for his fantastic portrayal of Albin in the revival of La Cage Aux Folles. He may have tired of hair, makeup, and costume but certainly not performing, and you can still catch him out of drag at the Carlyle on New York's Upper East Side, performing everything from Frank Sinatra and Judy Garland to Stevie Wonder and some of his own music. Hodge was approached by the Carlyle for the two week gig in the Cafe Carlyle space during his run in La Cage, and as he says, "I've never performed anywhere so intimate and exquisite and I thought, 'That sounds terrifying--I'll go for it!"

Reservations for the show and dinner (which is a required part of the evening and begins at 6:30) start at $75 are available by calling 212-744-1600. The show runs March 15 - 26.
