Truman Says

Damn, They Didn't Even Try to Pretend

It's no secret that many mega-retailers take high-end fashion designs and water them down for the masses. H&M, Zara and Steve Madden have reputations for recreating designer goods for a fraction of the cost, with barely any shame.

Refinery29 discovered this shoe called the Holly Shoe Lace-Up Wedge Oxfords which are a thinly-veiled attempt to rip-off the statement shoe of the season, the Prada Oxford/Espadrille Hybrid. 'Thinly-veiled', by the way is an understatement, for sure. These are the most blatant, and tasteless, rip-offs we've seen in a long time, if not ever. Sure, the Prada versions require you to be on a waiting list just to have the chance to throw down $800 to own them, and this is definitely a wallet-friendly alternative (they cost $92) for the rest of us, but we can't imagine that there will be some serious legal repercussions for such an audacious copy. Would you buy these knock-offs, risking the embarrassment of being called out for your miserly ways?
