Tom Ford to Direct Remake of Roller Boogie

After a critically-acclaimed debut movie, fashion designer, director and Out's February cover boyTom Ford is now revealing his next move as a filmmaker.

"I want to make a movie with a lighter hand than A Single Man," Ford told the fashion blog Auntie Fashion. "It hurts me to know that some people found my first film to be too artistic, and perhaps a little contrived. For that reason, I feel the need to create something grittier and less maudlin, yet enlightening."

So Ford will has chosen to avoid the sophomore slump by taking off in a completely different direction and remaking the campy acid trip that was Roller Boogie -- a Xanadu-esque musical set in a skating rink from 1979 starring Linda Blair.

Well, all we can say is that it's definitely an unexpected choice, and will be the perfect remedy to drawing comparisons to his first film. Also, Ford's designs often reference the sexy seventies, so this could be an amazing fit to create some sleek, chic imagery and just have fun. Whatever the project, we feel confident that Ford will execute with stylish panache and a hint of naughtiness. We're also wondering how Tom will fit Julianne Moore into this one, but we know he will and we know it will be fabulous.
