Obama Elects Gay Man as New Social Secretary

Wowza. We're not sure what's going on over at 1600 Pensylvania Avene but President Obama finally seems interested in addressing some gay issues, be they social or political. First, he declared DOMA unconstitutional earlier this week and ceased its enforcement -- causing lots of drama, obviously -- and now, in an interesting move, he's electedJeremy Bernard, an openly gay man, as his newest social secretary. Some may note that this is his third since he arrived in office. The position was originally bestowed upon the glamorous Desiree Rodgers who left after the White House Party Crasher Scandal (which we learned all about by watching TheReal Housewives of DC, obviously). Her replacement was Julianna Smoot, but she just peaced out to head up Obama's re-election campaign. Now it looks like the Prez's social calendar is in the hands of a professional. Everyone knows if you want a fab social life, hand it over to a 'mo.

But all kidding aside, congrats to Bernard and way to go Mr.President. While, of course, our eye is always on the next battle, its nice to see that Obama is becoming more visibly direct in his support for equality. And we're dying to see the next White House event. We're guessing its gonna be exceptional.
