Need To Know: Lana Mir

If you thought the American Dream was dead -- think again. Ukrainian singer-songwriter Lana Mir came to the U.S. after deciding that the Eastern European music scene wasn't her thing and after living in a tiny apartment buried deep in Brooklyn, waiting tables, and infiltrating NYC's jazz scene, she is preparing to release her debut eponymous album in August.

We caught up with Mir to chat about coming the U.S., her influences, and how she translates her breezy, summer songs into live tunes:
