I don't know about you, but when the bleak frigid last few days of February start to wear me down, I look for any tiny distraction I can to keep me from climbing into my bed, pulling the blankets over my head and staying put until Memorial Day. Most often I find the diversions keeping me vertical are of the musical variety and lately I've been lucky enough to find a few musicians to keep me company during my cold, sloppy daily commutes.
One of my favorites right now is Marina Lambrini Diamandis aka Marina and the Diamonds. Quirky, catchy, (I hear and see traces of Kate Bush, Bjork, Sia, and Kelly Clarkson) and already reaping the praise of critics and record buyers alike, the Welsh singer just released her first full length album, The Family Jewels, on Monday in the U.K. and will invading the U.S. in the near future. Check out the video for her single "I Am Not A Robot" and then head to her official website for more info.
