Review: Versace

Versace is probably the only house that can manage to change the theme -- and the cut -- of the menswear season after season. Somehow, it still manages to be very Versace. The key to Versace is glamour, so even if you are a Tron-inspired biker with figure hugging patent pants and detailed leather biker jackets. As Versace was this season, or djellaba wearing eastern sophisticate as it was last season the key is to be sexy. That said, Versace really did seem to evolve in a positive direction for fall. Leather jackets seemed brand appropriate. The shiny patent pants are destined to be an editorial dream. The casting was younger and fresher. Also, the kaleidoscope printed blue chiffon shirts harked back to 80's Versace which was a nice stabilizer for the show.
