The pressure of the DWTS finals must have finally been too much, because the finalists only did three routines and not four, as originally advertised: the stars have been bled dry by this tenth week. I will confess that I have been voting primarily for Kelly each week, last night being no exception: while dancing her freestyle, she slipped off her partner and fell to the floor, but within seconds, Louis had her back in the swing of the lifts. Kelly regains her confidence, keeps swooping around and finishes the dance:
Oh, did I forget to mention she dances to "I Will Survive"? What can I say? I vote with my heart, not logic.
Mya came blazing out of the gate with a paso doble that Len certified as the best of the season:
We've known for weeks this is Mya's competition to lose, and she may have done just that by following that dance with a lackluster freestyle routine. She mentioned in the intro montage for the dance that she feared it wasn't risk-taking enough, and the judges agreed in their scoring.
Then Donny Osmond busted out with this performance:
The freestyle dance is usually the clincher, and it's hard to deny how well he synthesized every part, including straight 10s from the judges. With only a few points shy from Mya's overall score, will the people provide the votes for him to surpass the gap? It seems likely, but if the nail-biting face-off between hardworking nice people isn't enough drama for you, Whitney Houston will be singing live tonight during the results show too.
