The Queer Week In Review: 4/13 - 4/17

What Dreams May Come
We've already covered this, but we just can't get enough Susan Boyle. When the 47-year-old took to the stage of Britain's Got Talent, neither she nor anyone else had an idea she'd become a worldwide sensation. But haven't we all fantasized about a moment like hers? So while the mindless among us worship vaginally talented lip synchers as music icons, Susie B. is proof that talent and graced actually do count -- at least sometimes. Our standards have not been completely obliterated yet. If she wins the TV competition, she will get to sing for the queen. But this is one queen she can sing for anytime.

Wolf Teabags WeHo
Leave it to the conservatives to flaunt their sexual proclivities in public. To protest President Obama's government spending, Republicans and Christians across the country tea-bagged themselves (now that's something we'd like to see in porn). Sex star Wolf Hudson took to the streets of West Hollywood to determine the difference between their tea bags and ours. And we're not as different as you might think!

Will You Marry Me, Boy?
While California's Supreme Court debates the legality of making same-sex marriage illegal, Iowa's Supreme Court ruled to legalize it, and now New York's governor is aiming to get a bill legalizing it for his state by the end of June. Perhaps Prop 8's passing will, in the end, do more good than not. At least for other states...

Grey Days
So the rumor mill has it that Shonda Rhimes is sending T.R. Knight's Grey's Anatomy character, George, off to the Iraq war where he may or may not be killed in the line of duty in May's season finale. How would he get through basic training and sent off to war to be in the line of fire a month later? Can they send Katherie Heigl too? Does anyone even care?
