Jamie Stewart is coming to take your picture

This April Jamie is headed out on a solo tour in order to offer his fans his music in its rawest, most emotional state. Sets from the tour will be chosen from over 80 songs plus several brand new pieces from a Xiu Xiu record tentatively scheduled for a 2010 released to be called Dear God, I Hate Myself (we can't wait -- if that isn't classic Xiu Xiu, we don't know what is). The shows will be played with the most intimate of arrangements with just electric guitar, bird call whistles and a stylophone (a late 60s toy synth that's played with a pen). Jamie will be performing several songs that have never been played lived before and a few that haven't been heard in years.

Almost as exciting (and in keeping with the Madonna photo book theme we introduced at the top of this post), Jamie and long time Xiu Xiu accomplice/art brut David Horvitz will be taking a photograph portrait of every single person at every single show -- the audience, the sound guy, the waitresses, the promoter -- everyone! They'll all be published on the Xiu Xiu blog and the best 300 will be published as a book.

Jamie is also taking part in a new web series we'll be curating on Out. com called "Wish You Were Here" which will feature exclusive photo tour diaries from some of the hottest bands touring this spring and summer. Keep an eye on Out.com -- we'll be rolling it out soon.

Finally, prep yourself for Jamie's tour (a full list of tour dates can be found here) by heading over to Out.com and checking out three of our favorite Xiu Xiu videos (my all time favorite for "I Do What I Want, When I Want" is above) now loaded in the Out.com video player.
