Converse, a longtime favorite among musicians ranging from Sid Vicious to M.I.A., just debuted the video for the track "My Drive Thru" featuring Pharrell, Santogold, Julian Casablancas (of The Strokes fame) and N*E*R*D. The song and video, seen below, were commissioned to celebrate Converse's deep roots in the music community over the last 100 years.
Described by The Times of London as "a three-headed Frankenstein's monster of coolness," the collaboration was made available for download in June at Converse.com and the accompanying pop-up paper doll-inspired video was created by Converse in partnership with Anomaly, Cornerstone, and the directing and dazzling origami-esque animating talents of Psyop. It just goes to show that just because you're old and available in every strip mall in the country doesn't mean you still can't be on the cutting -- or folding -- edge.
