The 'Buffalo Stance' singer’s collab with Robyn is subtle synthy smash

If The Knife and Icona Pop have shown us anything, it's that it's hard for Swedish musicians to go wrong when they pair up. Neneh Cherry's collaboration with Robyn further confirms my theory. Cherry, who is returning to music this month with her first solo album in 17 years, teamed up with reigning dance-pop queen, Robyn, to make "Out of the Black." The lead single of Cherry's upcoming album, Blank Project--which drops February 25 on Smalltown Supersound--is a track that's more bewitching than dancey. Neneh and Robyn harmonize and go back and forth over restrained synth and drum beats. The beauty in this track is its very deliberate simplicity: Cherry and Robyn are front and center while the synths and drums take a far back seat. Check out the track below.

You can preorder Blank Project on Amazon and iTunes. The album comes out February 25 on Smalltown Supersound.
