Katie Stelmanis of Austra chooses three songs she loves

Toronto-based singer-songwriter Katie Stelmanis blends personal lyrics with the throb of techno and dance on the band's second album Olympia, which is out now. We asked Katie for three tracks from her summer play list.

First, watch the video for Austra's song, "Home":

"It's so nice to have music you wait to feel, not wait to judge," Katie explains in relation to The Knife.

Watch the great video for The Knife's "Shaking the Habitual":

"The tragic poet of our generation," Katie says of Cat Power. "Her songs move me."

Watch Cat Power's video for the song "Manhattan":

"I love house made before DJs used drum machines," Katie says. "Listen to Marshall Jefferson's 'Move Your Body,' where everything is played live--drums, piano, vocals."
