Derek Nicoletto wants his album release for Just Panic and Get It Over With to inspire a "worldwide visual art movement." So far, three dozen artists have created works based on the EP's songs that will be exhibited in Honolulu, Manchester, Provincetown, and elsewhere, with the first exhibit to take place this summer at Spring Gallery in SoHo. This weekend there's an album release party April 19 at New York City's Arlene's Grocery.
The video for one of the tracks from the EP shows that artistic input reflected in the Just Panic... project, with Nicoletto himself, wearing a black monkl-like hood, painting a self-portrait and images of paint diffusing in water.

As Nicoletto explains:
"The video for San Simeon conceptually reflects the infusion of visual art into the music of the overall Just Panic And Get Over With project. The music of the six-song EP is inspiring art events that will accompany our live tour; this video pays homage to those events, which begin this summer. The video was filmed by Josh Stoddard of Gibson Guitars, on location at The Hit Factory at Gibson Entertainment. It was important to me that I be shown with my band, because I am not a one-man show. The video's fluidity and colorfulness resemble the atmosphere of the song - a hopeful intimacy with which I wrote my lyrics and melody, and how I delivered the vocals."
