Soundcheck: Oberhofer

The Brooklyn-based indie-rock group comes in for a studio session.

Brad Oberhofer didn't realize he needed a band until after he booked his debut Brooklyn gig. "He set me up with a show at Death by Audio and I didn't have a band," he says, referring to a classmate at NYU who set him up to perform. "So I rounded up a couple of guys to play in my band."

The original arrangement, mostly friends, has change since then, and the band now finds itself—after releasing two EPs with the catchily onomatopoeic single, "o0Oo0O0o"—embarking on a U.S. tour to promote their debut album, Time Capsules II.

We recently had the band to perform a few songs from the upcoming release and talked to Brad about getting hit by a car in the 7th grade and his daily affinity for The Marshall Mathers LP.
