Lady Gaga decides that there's only one diva in her camp and sends her creative cohort packing

Lady Gaga and her longtime creative director Laurieann Gibson are going their separate ways.

Gibson, who has helped guide Gaga since she signed to Interscope Records, is no longer working with the pop star after what is being described as a series of spats and disagreements. A rep for Gaga confirms to the Hollywood Reporter that the two have split.

The news broke on the website Media Takeout, which spoke to a Gaga insider who pegged the schism on a change in Gibson's attitude.

"Laurieann is a bit of a diva, but she had her ego under control--not anymore," says a source on Team Gaga.

One example of Gibson's newly unleashed ego is an interview she recently gave to the Los Angeles Times.

"Listen, [Madonna] should be bitter because I [made Lady Gaga in her image] on purpose and you can quote me," she tells the paper. "I did it on purpose because for all those kids who believe that you can't, I wanted to let them feel that you can."

Gaga, who has gone to great lengths to quash Madonna comparisons, was certainly not pleased.

According to THR, another fight flared up when Gibson took issue with the religious nature of Gaga's "Judas" video, which made the apparently devout creative type uncomfortable.

At the time, she said, "At one point, there was two completely different views and after the third glass of wine, I was like, 'Listen, I don't want lightning to strike me. I believe in the Gospel and I'm not going there.'"

There were reportedly also disagreements between Gibson and her number-one client over videos for the songs "Edge of Glory" and "You and I."
