Dirty Looks Goes On Tour

The GLBT film and video series surfaces out West

Dirty Looks is a New York City-based screening series for experimental GLBT film and video. Its curator, Bradford Nordeen, has brought new meaning to camp, parody and the marginal. He collects queer films that are wild and often overlooked and screens them in galleries, on rooftops and even in churches.

Dirty Looks has shown some work that other people wouldn't dare, such as a restored version of the hilariously messy City of Lost Souls, a trans punk musical by Rosa von Praunheim; and Curt McDowell's sing-and-suck tavern caper, Sparkles Tavern.

Starting February 10, Dirty Looks is going on tour to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Portland. A smattering of Dirty-Looks-style filmmakers will be present, and some of the film crit zines Dirty Looks publishes will be available.
