Before she fled her recent CNN interview because she felt on the defense when challenged about her Obama remarks, funny lady extraordinaire Joan Rivers revealed that she's headed back to Broadway, though she didn't stick around long enough to say in what.
Well, I asked and found out. Joan plans to revive Sally Marr...and Her Escorts, the play she wrote in which she starred as groundbreaking comic Lenny Bruce's mother (not to mention a dancer, actress, talent spotter, and comic herself).
For the play, which hit Broadway in 1994, Joan's tough performance was deservedly nominated for a Best Actress Tony. This time around, Joan plans to start with a reading of the play at The National Theatre in D.C. this fall, then (to name another play she appeared in), she's fixing to be Broadway Bound.
And I assure you, no one will walk out in the middle.
