Art in the Pines: Bogdan Stanga
By Out.com Editors
The finest of Fire Island Pines’s guesthouses continues "The Madison Art Summer Series" with its third show this season with the work of Brooklyn-based photographer Bogdan Stanga.
“With this show I want to offer my audience a true summer experience celebrating male beauty and fashion,” says Stanga. “The exhibition is a platform for my latest project, which is a series of outdoor portraits inspired by classic Victorian Paintings.”
Along with these new images, the exhibition also features a selection of Bogdan’s previous works. These photos were shot over the last five years in New York, California, New Mexico, and Connecticut, and in France and Romania.
Bogdan Stanga is a photographer based in New York City, originally from Bucharest, Romania. His retouching techniques transform his subjects into living narratives of texture and lighting, blurring the lines of reality and fantasy. This is Bogdan's first American show.
His work has appeared in several print and online publications, including Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, DNA, Tabu, Normal, XEX Mag, Ohlalamag, and Homotography.
The launch of the show is a cocktail reception on August 9, 4–7pm, open bar, at The Madison (22 Atlantic Walk), and all are welcome. The artist will be in attendance and all works are for sale. The show, in association with The Pines Gallery, will be on display through August 28.
Fire Island visitors who call and mention "Madison Summer Art Series" will get a discount on room reservations at The Madison (631-579-6061).
