The Israeli-born artist's latest exhibit, '...And Europe Will Be Stunned,' still stunning

Of all the sights we saw during our trip to Israel, one of the most impressive wasn't a natural wonder or ancient temple. It was video art.

The Tel Aviv Museum of Art is currently hosting an exhibit of work by Israeli-born artist Yael Bartana (as well as a stunner by Izhar Patkin). Titled ...And Europe Will Be Stunned, the show is a collection of three videos--which were Poland's entry in the 54th Venice Biennale--as well as posters and a neon sculpture that defied our best attempts to capture it with Instagram.

Bartana's video trilogy follows a fictional Polish politician who attempts to lure Jews, who left Poland by the millions before, during and after the Holocaust, back to the country. It's a smart, provocative look at the Jewish diaspora, the meaning of Israel and what constitutes a homeland. The show naturally caused quite a stir when it opened in Tel Aviv. Check out what all of the fuss is about with a look at the first video in the series, below.
