Face to Face: BT

Brian Transeau, better known as BT, is a pioneering electronic musician, DJ, and producer. Not only has he created his own music, worked with some of the biggest names in the industry -- including Peter Gabriel, Tori Amos, 'N Sync, and Sting -- but he's also continued to push electronic music into new territory, developing new techniques and techonologies like the stutter edit. In fact, he's listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for his song "Somnambulist," which is recognized as using the largest number of vocal edits in a song -- 6,178.

We caught up with BT recently to chat about being a precocious child, becoming a "forced technologist," and how the music industry has followed a "pimp and prostitute" model for too long:

Check out BT's video for "A Million Stars" featuring Kirsty Hawkshaw, taken from his latest album, These Hopeful Machines, and then head to his official website for more info.
