Tiny Masters of Today Skeletons While most adolescents are Wii-ing and texting, brother-sister duo Ada and Ivan are busy brewing their own awesome alchemy of punk-rock and power-pop. The siblings (who weigh in at a combined age of 28) are back with a new drummer, as well as their second album, a deeper and more expert exploration of what the Brooklyn phenoms started with Bang Bang Boom Cake which garnered the two accolades from the likes of David Bowie, Thurston Moore and Karen O. While tunes like Abercrombie Zombie might seem like material better suited for the mall-pop likes of Miley (more on that later), the infectious Pop Chart wades into the difficult waters of whether to major label, or not. Tiny, yes. But masters nonetheless. The Proclaimers Notes and Rhymes While its virtually impossible to think of the Proclaimers without that perambulatorily-challenged tune coming to mind, the extraordinarily prolific British brothers are back with their eighth album, which the twins wrote in tandem, as they have their entire catalog. The brothers Reid recently trotted out some underappreciated tunes from their 2007 Life With You on an acoustic EP which included a brilliant cover of the Kings of Leons 17 in preparation for the politically-infused pop on Notes and Rhymes. The perpetual tourers are sure to hit a town near you you know how many miles theyll go. Jonas Brothers, Lines Vines and Trying Times While its unclear what exactly the Jo-Bro know about trying times (discerning between Hannah Montana? That dang Robert Pattinson?), the Brothers Jonas are back with the soundtrack to your summer, whether you like it or not. In a recent interview, Nick (aka The Smart One) called it our journal in songs which makes sense, since the boys got big after their last album, and this onell be the pitfalls of fame set to the best pop money can buy. Just when you thought it was (relatively) safe to put back on the radio, the Jonas Brothers are back with their sneaky Jesus music.
