The Gay Agenda

Gossipgirl_boysx395

TUBE: Up until the present Gossip Girl has yielded little truly gay content for its huge queer audience (that is, beyond the feisty sass those Upper East Side vixens dish out regularly). But rumor has it that soon -- perhaps this Monday, April 29 -- we will be thrown a bone with a closet departure from a male character. Could it be the dashing Brooklyn boyfriend played by handsome Out cover boy Penn Badgley? Or will the CW take brotherly (in-law) love to a new level with the tension hinted at in last week's episode between vile Chuck (other Out cover boy Ed Westwick) and Serenas young brother, Eric (Connor Paolo)? TUNES: This week bears a triad of musical fruit: If one of these three new releases hitting shelves Tuesday, April 29, doesnt tickle your fancy get someone to take your pulse: Madonnas Hard Candy, (inspect the video for her single with Justin Timberlake 4 Minuteshere); Portishead's Third (check out their first single, Machine Gun,here), and hip-hopinfluenced Santogolds self-titled debut. Fusing several genres (sometimes per song), this Philly-born femme fatale (above) is going to be spun by every DJ not under a rock this season. Lets just acknowledge the big fat pink elephant in the room and say shes kinda like M.I.A. See her kickass L.A. performance of Youll Find A Wayhere. FLICK: Brace yourself for the loud, abrasive noise of flame-throwers, grenades, machine gun fire, and explosions on Friday, May 2, as Jon Favreaus Iron Man, starring Robert Downey, Jr., hits theaters. Coming from the pens of the writers responsible for Children of Men, the film way have more to offer intellectually than anticipated. Gwenyth Paltrow, Hilary Swank, Jeff Bridges, Samuel Jackson and Terrence Howard support. Check out the trailer here. DO-GOODERNESS:Live Out Loud, New Yorks premiere non-profit for connecting young gays and the leaders who support them in universities and schools, is honoring four enterprising young queers on Monday, April 28, at the Chelsea Art Museum for their fearlessness in gay educational organizations. For their hard work and determination theyll be awarded $2,500 scholarships by super-hot Xanadu star Cheyenne Jackson. Also present will be gala chairs and fashion designers: Thom Browne, John Bartlett, and Ralph Pucci.
