The Gay Agenda

By Edgar Casillas

FLICK: Surfboards and men never looked better than in Shelter, the new film from Jonah Markowitz. When family commitments keep Zach (Trevor Wright) away from art school, he finds companionship in Shaun (Brad Rowe), his best friend's older brother. We won't spoil the movie, but let's just say the two build a bond that is more than platonic. The film opens in select theaters March 21. To see its rather inviting trailer, click here.

SPECTACLE: After spending three years as an escort to a man named 'Art,' Mike Jones discovered that his client was none other than Reverend Ted Haggard, founder and pastor of New Life Church of Colorado Springs. Watching him on television speaking out against gay rights and same-sex unions prompted Jones to expose his client, leading to Haggard's resignation days later. Telling his side of the story, Mike Jones premiers his one-man show, Naked Before God: Exposing the Hypocrisy of Ted Haggard, Thursday, March 16 in Denver, Colorado. See it at the Bug Theater, 3654 Navajo Street.
