The Gay Agenda

CUTTHROAT COUTURE: The Project Runway finale is upon us, and while this season offered a disappointing measure of drama (what, no craft service lunches spitefully laced with sewing needles? No dainty models showing up high on PCP?), the three debatably best designers of the bunch -- drape-til-he-drops Rami Kashou, shorts-jumpsuitloving Julian Lewis, and the humblest guy on cable TV, Christian Siriano -- are sure to turn out some "fierce" collections March 5 as they battle for $100,000 dollars and the most coveted prize of all: Even the faintest smile from the perennially unamused Nina Garcia. SPECTACLE: Show stoppers Kiki & Herb bring their riotous antics to Bottlerocket Wine & Spirit, where the duo will regale admirers with their ribald humor and sign copies of their first-ever DVD, Kiki & Herb: Live at the Knitting Factory. If the irreverent anecdotes and chicken scratch of this drag cabaret act, made up of Justin Bond and Kenny Mellman, aren't enough to entice you, come for the free wine. Check it all out Monday, March 3, from 6pm-8pm, 5 West 19th Street at 5th Avenue, New York City. No invitation needed. TUNES: Those sinister U.K. goth-rock trailblazers Bauhaus (above) have returned from their musical grave -- but, unfortunately, not for long. The quartet's first studio album in 25 years hits stores March 4, and though they've already announced it will be their last, Go Away White (Bauhaus Music) delivers the signature dreary drama, guitar fuzz, and blood-boiling energy fans relished during the band's dark zenith in the early '80s. Welcome back, boys. DO-GOODERNESS: This week the 24th annual S.T.A.G.E HIV/AIDS benefit celebrates BLAME IT ON BACHARACH! a musical commemorating Burt Bacharach. The performance features the likes of Melissa Manchester (yes, that gal who sang "Don't Cry Out Loud"!), former Amercian Idol runner-up Justin Guarini (where has he been?), and former Rent boy Jai Rodriguez reinterpreting some of the wildly successful composer's best songs (70 of which, by the way, made the U.S. Top 40). Proceeds go to AIDS Project Los Angeles. Choose from two sets -- one on March 8 at 8pm, the other on March 9 at 3pm, at the Wilshire Theater Beverly Hills. Get your tickets here.
