What kind of reaction did you get from being on the cover of Out last fall?
Amazing! I've had to sign so many copies of the issue. I'm not part of the gay community, so I don't read the literature very often. It's funny when you are a part of it, and then it's everywhere! It was a good thing for me and hopefully for people reading it.
We did a poll on Popnography and it turned out that our readers felt strongly that you should come to this event dressed in a towel. I feel obligated to ask you why you chose to wear something else.
Um.... It's a lot more comfortable? [laughing] And I'm not in quite as good shape as I was when I wore that towel!
Were you expecting such a strong reaction to that scene?
Oh, God, no.

I know, I know. Whenever I do an interview, it's always in print. But I had no idea. I thought I was doing a fun scene where someone who doesn't belong in a locker room walks into a locker room. That's what the scene is really about. And it was a good scene. But I'm flattered.
Are we going to finally get a gay storyline on the show?
I've heard a specific rumor about a storyline, and it is on some level definitely gay. That would be exciting and probably overdue.
Is [Galactica's long-suffering single guy] Gaeta gay?
Almost definitely!
What are you working on now?
I did a couple of guest starring roles on other TV shows-Cold Case and Ghost Whisperer. I'm buying a house with my family and moving to L.A. And I've been writing a lot. I'm actually hoping to write an episode of Battlestar Galactica. I've submitted my treatment to the powers that be, and we'll see how that goes. I'm starting a new career as a writer!
